Bebandem, “The Secret Garden” in East Bali

Undeniable that Bali present a million charms of beauty. Culture and custom which are well guarded and synergy with the nature are indeed the uniqueness of the Balinese community. But that made him even greater is how they translate it into every inch of their lives, especially in the agricultural sector.

Most of farmers and other agricultural activist in the other region always feel worried about their rice fields that threatened by the new phenomenon called “modern industry”, whether it is luxury housing, textile, mall, or tourism. But for they in Bali, this fear is not became a big problem, because rice fields in Bali is one of the most sacred places. Therefore, don’t be surprised if you found many of Subak temples in most of rice fields in Bali. As a sacred place, off course Balinese rice fields has its own superiority and uniqueness. Almost Balinese rice fields have beautiful terraces, and the most interesting thing is the utilization of Subak, the Balinese traditional irrigation system.
