A short interview with Jero Mangku Luhur Batukaru Kebayan Lingsir, the stakeholder of Luhur Temple Batukaru. This interview talked about the history of Batukaru temple. It was conducted at the main court of Luhur Temple Batukaru.
+: Om Swastiastu, can you tell me about the history of Batukaru?
-: as I know, the history of this temple is not written completely, but peoples said that this temple was built at 3rd century, but there is also who said that it was built at 8th century.
+: can you tell me more about the important things according to the existence of this temple
-: this temple is one of Sad Kahyangan Jagat, which means it is one of six great temples in the west. Interestingly, a long time ago, there’s a lot of ancient statues was founded in the temple’s area.
+: how about the characteristic of this temple?
-: generally, it is all same as the others temples in Bali, this temple have also “meru” and “pelinggih”. But the uniqueness of this temple is “the three pelinggih” which shaped as temple that may not exist in other places.
